ESP Analytics
The ESP Analytics tab gives you a complete picture of how each of your SMTP connections (email providers) performs across all your campaigns over time.
Go to Campaigns > Overview and click the ESP Analytics tab to access it.
Why ESP Analytics Matters
If you use multiple email providers (e.g., SendGrid for transactional, SparkPost for marketing), their performance may vary significantly. One provider might have better delivery rates, while another might generate more bounces. Without organization-level ESP visibility, you'd need to check each campaign report individually.
ESP Analytics aggregates performance across all campaigns so you can:
- Compare ESP connections side by side
- Spot which provider is underperforming
- Track delivery trends over time
- Make informed decisions about which ESP to use for different campaigns
KPI Cards
Six key metrics at the top, aggregated across all ESP connections for the selected period:
| Card | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Total Sent | Total emails sent across all ESPs |
| Delivered | Total emails accepted by recipient servers |
| Bounced | Total bounces across all ESPs |
| Failed | Total delivery failures |
| Avg Open Rate | Average open rate across campaigns |
| Avg Click Rate | Average click rate across campaigns |
Sends Over Time
A daily bar chart showing total send volume across all ESPs. Useful for spotting volume patterns.
Delivery Rate by ESP
A grouped bar chart comparing delivery rate and open rate across all your ESP connections. Instantly see which provider delivers best.
ESP Comparison Table
A side-by-side comparison of all your SMTP connections:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| ESP Connection | Connection name with vendor type badge (SendGrid, SparkPost, SES, etc.) |
| Sent / Delivered | Volume numbers |
| Delivery % | Color-coded: green (95%+), yellow (90-95%), red (under 90%) |
| Open % | Average open rate |
| Click % | Average click rate |
| Bounce % | Color-coded: green (under 2%), yellow (2-5%), red (5%+) |
| Trend | Arrow showing whether delivery is improving, stable, or declining |
The ESP Selector
When the ESP Analytics tab is active, an ESP dropdown appears on the right side of the tab bar. Use it to filter all metrics to a specific SMTP connection, or select "All ESPs" to see the combined view.
The period selector at the top of the page is shared between all three tabs — changing the period updates Overview, ISP Analytics, and ESP Analytics data together.
Common Scenarios
Comparing two ESP providers
Use the ESP Comparison Table to see delivery, open, and bounce rates side by side. The provider with higher delivery rate and lower bounce rate is performing better.
Deciding which ESP to use for a campaign
Check the trend column. If one ESP shows "Declining" delivery, consider routing your next campaign through a different provider.
Investigating delivery issues
If overall bounce rate is climbing, use ESP Analytics to determine if it's coming from one specific provider. If so, check that provider's dashboard for reputation issues.
